Friday NWI

As I posted yesterday, this week was a struggle.  That was not the reason, however, that I didn’t weigh in this week.  I did follow my plan for yesterday evening.  I ended up using all my weekly points for the week, plus one activity point.  I had 8 activity points left over.  So, the food part ended up OK.  I was under on activity due to allergies.  But, overall, Fitbit said I had a calorie deficit for the week so I would have expected a small loss had I weighed in.

I didn’t weigh in today because I had to be about 50 miles away from where my meeting was for an appointment that was a scheduled late in the week.  My original plan this week had been to go to my meeting this morning, then eat at home lightly (instead of going out to lunch like we usually do), and then to go out Friday night with my husband to Macaroni Grill for our anniversary dinner.  Well, being gone all day put a crimp in that plan.  I was worried at first at having to eat out twice in the day, since we would gone at lunch time.

As it turned out, I was very happy with how I planned out the day and that I carried out the plan.  I put together a small breakfast (3 WW points, just under 200 calories) that I took and ate in the car.  Then, during the midday, I ate a 6 point bar that I brought with me.  That wouldn’t be a usual lunch, but I really didn’t want to eat a lot.  We got home in the late afternoon.  I skipped my usual afternoon snack.  After talking about it, we decided to just not spend the calories to eat at Macaroni Grill, and decided to go to Red Lobster where we could have something a bit more reasonable in points.  I had the Ultimate Feast with green beans (no salad – I don’t love the Red Lobster salad) and 2 Cheddar Bay Biscuits (I do love the biscuits).  This was either 18 points or 24 points.  The “either” is because the nutrition PDF on the Red Lobster website says that the Ultimate Feast is 400 calories (I assume that is without sides), which is 10 Weight Watchers Points.  On the other hand, this page says that the Ultimate Feast is 600 calories!  So, either one of them is wrong or the one that is 600 calories includes the salad and/or a side.  I have sent in an inquiry to try to find out.  I did try to add up the 4 parts of the Ultimate Feast (without sides and without the melted butter) and it seems closer to 400 calories.

Later this evening, I had a small (95 calorie) serving of dark chocolate as a snack.  So, I’m at 1223 calories if 400 calories is right for the Feast, otherwise 1423 if the 600 calories is right.  That works out to either 30 or 36 WW points.  In any event, I’m happy with how the day turned out foodwise.  And, I’m glad that I didn’t let this very stressful week derail me.  I hope that during the upcoming week, my allergies will be better so that I can be more active.  I’m way behind on my steps goal for the month and I know I can’t catch up, but I would like to get a bit closer.
