Seeing as how I didn’t really set any June goals, there isn’t much to report here. When the month started I had no idea what was going to happen with my activity. I was still using the walker on a non-weight bearing basis and didn’t know what would happen when I went back to my doctor. A lot of my goals are fitness based so it was hard to really plan anything for June.
As it turned out, when I went to the doctor he had me continue to use the walker for 2 weeks, gradually putting more and more weight on it. I did finally, after that, start to get a bit more active. I bought an exercise bike and rejoined the Y so I could use the ellipticals there and the weight machines. I got started and then…sort of nothing. There were two main reasons for this. I didn’t feel well for a couple of days so skipped the Y. Then, this week I have just been buried in something that I am doing where I am glued to the computer doing a lot of writing. And, my mother is here from out of town visiting. I haven’t even used the exercise bike since, hmm, June 22nd except when I went to physical therapy on June 23rd. So, I’ve just been really sedentary for the last 9 days, except for doing some physical therapy exercises.
I am burning some more calories than I was when I using the walker non-weight bearing, but I’m just doing way too much sitting. The computer thing will be done (well, mostly) tomorrow so I’ll have more time. Overall, June was an OK month. I lost 2.4 pounds which wasn’t stellar, but at least when in the right direction. I did well on my eating even if I wasn’t happy with my overall calorie burn.
July should be much better. I am going to set some goals for July but probably not until this weekend. July is looking to be a difficult month, more about that later.
